Flu Vaccinations - CLINICS ARE NOW FULLY BOOKED
We are expecting an increased uptake of the flu vaccine this year. Please be aware that we ordered our supplies in February based on last year’s uptake. In the meantime the Government announced an extension to the ages eligible for the flu vaccine. The current guidance from NHS England is as follows:
If you are aged between 50 and 64 and not in a clinical at risk group, the earliest you will be offered a flu vaccination is November, providing there is sufficient vaccine. No appointments will be offered for people in this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are aged 50 to 64 and are in a clinical ‘at risk’ group which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.
Our patients who live in retirement homes will be managed in their own homes by our visiting nurses. Housebound patients will also be managed in their own homes.
Our flu clinics dates are being held onsite with strict appointment times to enable us to manage social distancing. The Flu Appointment Line is 01932 548978 Our Clinic dates are Saturday 26 September, Saturday 17th October and Saturday 31 October 2020. All Flu Clinics are booked appointments only for patients who are in these eligibility categories:
- under 65 and at risk
- all patients over 65
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL THREE CLINICS ARE NOW FULLY BOOKED. New appointments will continue to be allocated to our AT RISK groups as a priority and if new clinic dates are announced you will receive a message to call and book an appointment if you have not already done so. For regularly updated information please view the Government Website or visit your local Pharmacy to book a Flu Appointment.
